Victor Majola, who is arrested for the fatal shooting of the media personality Warrick “DJ Warras” Stock, is given more time to formally apply for bail. The Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court has postponed the matter until next Tuesday, 13 January 2026.
Majola briefly appeared in the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 06 January 2026, to apply for the bail application.
Charges against the second accused, a woman arrested alongside Majola at a Soweto hostel, were withdrawn due to lack of evidence.
Forty-four-year-old will be appearing for the third time after appearing yesterday, and the matter was postponed so that the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) could verify his address amongst other things.
The NPA reemphasised that it will oppose bail, citing the seriousness of the offence.
Stock was gunned down outside the Zambesi House building in Johannesburg’s CBD in December 16 while working as a security contractor at the premises.
Meanwhile, the Stock family made an urgent appeal to South Africans to unity in remembering the late DJ Warras.
“We are making a call to the heart of South Africa and to the world,” the family said. “This is not a day for protest or political division. It is a day to remember Warrick Robert Stock, whose life was taken through an act of violence.”
