Police in Khuma township, in collaboration with local business owners from the community, including the owners of tuck shops, handed over the donated groceries to the Mohau Disability Centre on Wednesday, 18 March 2026.
According to the statement issued by SAPS, the visit was aimed at providing much-needed support to persons living with disabilities, following a request for assistance made by one of the centre’s caregivers.
“Responding swiftly to the call, Khuma SAPS collaborated with local business owners from the community, including the owners of tuck shops, who generously contributed groceries towards the initiative.
“During the event, members, together with the business owners, handed over the donated groceries to the centre. The initiative not only provided essential supplies but also served as a reminder of the power of unity and compassion within the community.”
The management and beneficiaries of the Mohau Disability Centre expressed their gratitude for the support received, highlighting the positive impact such contributions have on their daily operations and well-being.
Khuma SAPS indicated that they are dedicated to building strong community partnerships and will continue to support vulnerable groups through meaningful interventions aimed at improving lives and fostering social cohesion.
