Potchefstroom College of Agriculture students had an opportunity to learn about market operations and the agricultural value chain at the Matlosana National Fresh Produce Market this week.
On Thursday, 23 October 2025, the City of Matlosana Local Municipality confirmed that students gained “a comprehensive understanding of quality, quantity, timing, and packaging standards through a market tour and interactive presentation.”
According to the municipal spokesperson, Ntswaki Makgetha students also learned about agriculture opportunities, encouraging learners to pursue farming with passion and determination.

After Mr. Joseph Otukile shared his expertise, learners engaged actively, asking questions and receiving valuable insights.
“The market remains committed to promoting initiatives that contribute to the local economy and supports agricultural development.
“The Matlosana National Fresh Produce Market invites investors to explore opportunities in agricultural sector, leveraging our market expertise and infrastructure to drive growth and development,” said Makgetha.
