The Showtime Management announced on Tuesday, 30 December 2025, that it has taken an official decision to remove radio broadcaster Nkunyana Nkunyana also known as DJ Skuzabell from the Matlosana Hello Festival line up after his unprofessional behaviour and conduct.
The return of the Matlosana Hello Fest is taking place on 31 December 2025 and 01 January 2026 at Mshengu Fun City, Klerksdorp.
It is undoubtedly one of the largest lifestyle and entertainment events in the region, attracting thousands of revelers from across the province and beyond.
The festival will be a two day event, beginning with Lekompo v/s Amapiano on the 31st December, followed by the All White Jazz Festival on New year’s day 2026. Artists who are expected to perform are Selaelo Selota, Zonke, Bongo Maffin, Trompies, Thebe Mafikizolo, Makhadza, Thope tse Khano, Bhudaza, Teboho Moloi, Bucy Radebe, Boom Shaka, Mdu Masilela, Brothers of Peace, Nkosazana Daughter, Macho, Lady Du, Leemckrazy, Shandesh, King Monada, D Mos, LTK and many more.
According to the management of the event they were made aware of recent social media posts by Skuzabell that are intending to bring unnecessary confusion about his performance cancelation of the event.
“On behalf of Matlosana Hello Festival, the Showtime Management would like to clarify the cancellation of Skuzabell as one of the artists who were mentioned on our posters. We have been made aware of reports and public concerns regarding the conduct of Skuzabell and his uncalled for behaviour towards our organisers.
“We were surprised and disappointed by the responses and conduct displayed by Skuzabell. This behavior was not consistent with the professional standards and mutual respect that we expect from all participants and that our attendees deserve.”
The management has apologised to their partners and stakeholders for any inconvenience, frustration, or negative impact this behavior had on them.
“We had him on our posters and later removed him due to his conduct. A kind gesture was extended to DJ Skuzabell to compensate him for the cancellation. We wish him well in his future endeavours.”
“The experience and enjoyment of our attendees remain our top priority. We are addressing the issue. We are currently reviewing our internal processes and contractual agreements to prevent similar situations in the future and ensure all participants align with our event’s values.
“Matlosana Hello Festival is proud to promote a positive and supportive environment for the arts community and the public. We appreciate the understanding and support of our attendees and partners,” said Showtime Management chief executive officer (CEO), Molefi Setlaleleng.
In light of these developments, Matlosana Hello Festival has taken the following steps:
- Cancel the booking with the artist immediately.
- Removed the artist from all upcoming promotional materials and schedules.
- Pay him in full.
In a social media comment, Skuzabell did not deny that he was paid for being mentioned on the line up.
