FDCM to unveil people’s ward-based manifesto at Mooidraai Farm in Sasolburg

SASOLBURG — Setting a defining course for local governance under the banner “Local Government People’s Will And Final Choice,” His Royal Majesty, King Tibisi April Motaung II, President of the Fezile Dabi Civic Movement (FDCM) and Mayoral Candidate for the Metsimaholo Local Municipality, is set to launch the Fezile Dabi District Municipalities People’s Ward-Based Manifesto on Saturday, 29 August 2026, at Mooidraai Farm, Plot 44, Sasolburg.

During the ceremony, the FDCM will formally introduce its People’s Councillor Candidates, presenting them as dedicated service delivery servants chosen by and for the community.

As the Keynote Speaker, King Motaung II will deliver a decisive address outlining a comprehensive 100-Day Service Delivery Plan of Action.

This blueprint addresses critical infrastructure, community development, and transparent governance across all local municipalities within the Fezile Dabi District.

Meanwhile, Motaung II has officially announced the Royal House’s endorsement of Senior Chief Honorable Chairperson Teleki Taats for the upcoming Local Government Elections, scheduled for 4 November 2026.

Senior Chief Taats will contest the position of Ward Councillor for Ward 6 in the Metsimaholo Local Municipality.

He currently serves as the Head of Governance within the Mooidraai Farm Royal Community and Authority, a position held under the direct appointment of the King.

According to the royal announcement, the decision by Taats’ civic movement to put him forward as a candidate represents an act of ancestral vindication, aimed at bridging the gap between traditional leadership and modern civic governance.

Motaung II has called upon all members of the Royal Community, residents of Ward 6, and local stakeholders to unite behind Taats’ candidacy to ensure strong, professionally guided leadership for the municipality.
