The South African Social Security Agency has officially announced revised payment dates for the November 2026 social grant cycle to prevent disruptions during the upcoming Local Government Elections.
Following extensive consultations with key stakeholders, the National Treasury approved the altered timeline to ensure that payments are administered efficiently and securely.
Under this revised arrangement, the Older Persons Grant will be distributed on Friday, 30 October 2026, followed by the Disability Grant on Monday, 2 November 2026, and Children’s Grants on Tuesday, 3 November 2026.
SASSA has also designated a fourth-day payment on 5 November 2026 specifically for beneficiaries whose grants are currently under review.
The agency emphasizes its ongoing commitment to safeguarding the integrity of social assistance and urges beneficiaries to rely solely on official communication channels, avoid rushing to offices unnecessarily, and guard against spreading misinformation.
