Afrikaner Plot employees Christiaan van Blerk, 34, and Donovan van der Walt, 25, appeared briefly before the Klerksdorp Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 8 August 2025, and were remanded in custody until their next court appearance on Monday, 18 August 2025.
Police spokesperson in the North West, Colonel Adele Myburgh confirmed police in Klerksdorp, with the assistance of vigilant community members, located and arrested two men on Thursday, 7 August 2025, in Kempton Park, Gauteng, for theft of motor vehicle and cash.
“The accused were last seen at work on Monday morning, 14 July 2025, at Afrikaner Plot in Wessel Street in Meirings Park, Klerksdorp. They left their place of work in a company vehicle, a white Toyota Hilux Raider bakkie, to collect spare parts in Klerksdorp Industria, but never returned.
“Thereafter, their employer opened a missing person enquiry,” said Myburgh.
This comes after police reported that they are looking for two men who went missing on Monday, 14 July 2025, from their place of work at Afrikaner Plot, Wessel Street in Meirings Park, Klerksdorp.
Police spokesperson Colonel Adele Myburgh indicated that Van Blerk and Van der Walt, left their place of work in a white Toyota Hilux Raider bakkie, registration number KWF254NW, to collect spare parts in Klerksdorp Industria, but never returned.
A search for the two colleagues was conducted and all leads followed, but it did yield positive results by then.
“Christiaan van Blerk (34) is slender, built with long brown hair, brown eyes and about 1,8m tall.
“He has a scar on the right side of his face (cheek), a tattoo of a cross on his upper arm and a horse shoe tattoo on his upper leg,” said Myburgh.
Meanwhile, the 25-year-old is slender, built with brown hair, light blue eyes, a black moustache and beard (unshaven) and about 1,6 m tall.
“He has various tattoos on his body, with a lion tattoo on the left arm/hand.”
Myburgh said police appreciate the communities’ assistance.
