The Orkney Magistrates’ Court granted Zanele Ngubiselo R1 000 bail following her second court appearance on Tuesday, 09 September 2025.
This comes after she was arrested on Sunday for allegedly killing her husband.
The mother of three children aged 3, 6, 9 is accused of killing her husband on Sunday, 31 August 2025.
City Report SA reported a man residing in Vaal Reefs near Orkney, in the City of Matlosana, died after being struck with a tin of baby formula by his wife.
The couple got married in 2020 and has been living together since then. It is alleged that Zanele had a protective order against the late husband. The order was filed on 6 June 2025.
Speaking on the basis of anonymity, a community member alleged that the pair were under the influence of alcohol when they started to argue and throw insults at each other.
“Their 9-year-old child is the one who called neighbours to resolve the matter. He was always beating her up. They were always fighting in front of the children.”
The matter has been postponed to 06 October 2025 for further investigations.
