On Tuesday, 16 September August 2025 the former Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Ratlou Local Municipality in Madibogo and the Payroll Clerk were at the same municipality nailed by the Hawks’ Serious Corruption Investigation for alleged fraud appears.
Tumelo Letlojane, 35, and Maikano Keikantsemang Sedumedi, 53, appeared in the Setlagole Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 16 September 2025, facing charges of fraud.
The accused were granted R2000 bail each.
Their matter has been postponed to 21 October 2025 for first appearance at the Specialised Commercial Crime Court sitting in Mmabatho.
The Hawks spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Tinyiko Mathebula confirmed that their investigation on the matter continues.
“Reports indicate that in March 2022, the CFO appointed the payroll clerk as an acting expenditure manager without the approval of the municipal manager.
“Investigation revealed that in November 2022, the CFO allegedly authorised payment of over R49 000 to the acting expenditure manager for an acting allowance. It was further established that the alleged acting expenditure manager did not perform any duties related to her acting position,” said Mathebula.
