The Zamdela police arrested a 29-year-old man, on Sunday, 09 November 2025, for raping his 12-year-old stepdaughter.
It is alleged that on Sunday, 09 November 2025, at about 09:00, the complainant’s mother was at home with her older son when he came to his mother with a note allegedly written by his 12-year-old sister, revealing that her stepfather had been raping her.
Free State police spokesperson Sergeant Josephine Rani indicated that the 12-year-old girl confirmed the incidents, and her mother brought her to the Zamdela Police Station to open a case.
“The Zamdela Crime Prevention Unit traced and arrested the suspect on the same day at around 22:20.
“The suspect is expected to appear before the Sasolburg Magistrate’s Court soon on charges of rape,” said Rani.
