POTCHEFSTROOM — The JB Marks Local Municipality has announced a temporary water supply interruption for Ikageng Extension 6 on Thursday, 23 July 2026.
This emergency shutdown is required to facilitate critical repairs to a damaged water mainline supplying the neighborhood.
The water supply was turned off at 10:00 AM and will remain shut down until all necessary repair work is fully completed.
Municipal spokesperson Jeanette Tshite confirmed that the mainline sustained damage, prompting the urgent repairs. During this maintenance period, residents of Extension 6 are strongly advised to collect and store sufficient water for all essential domestic needs.
The JB Marks Local Municipality has apologized to the community for any inconvenience caused and appreciates the public’s patience while technicians work to restore the water supply as quickly as possible.
