Pretoria based company, Mosekate Trading and Projects Company and the City of Matlosana Local Municipality announced their contract which commenced 2021 to provide meter reading services for water and electricity, expired on 30 September 2025.
In September 2021, Matlosana announced Mosekate will provide meter reading for water and electricity in the municipality for three years.
The municipality pleaded with its residents to allow meter readers entry to their premises in order for the municipality to have accuracy of municipal billing.
On Tuesday, 14 October 2025, the municipal spokesperson Ntswaki Makgetha said the expiration of the contract will not affect meter readings, as all September readings for October 2025 accounts have been collected.
“For November 2025 accounts, consumers are requested to submit their October meter readings via email to meter-reading@klerksdorp.org until further notice. Please ensure that your account number is used as the reference and indicate if you do not have access to your electricity meter.
“The City of Matlosana appreciates the continued cooperation of all consumers and encourages them to keep paying their municipal accounts monthly. Further updates on meter reading arrangements will be communicated in due course,” said Makgetha.
