LINDLEY – Two young men are appearing in the Lindley Magistrate’s Court today following a violent business robbery at a local supermarket earlier this week.
The suspects, aged 21 and 22, residents of Ntha Township, face charges of business robbery.
The robbery occurred on Wednesday afternoon, 22 July 2026, at approximately 16:00. The two suspects entered a supermarket located on Brand Street in Lindley under the guise of buying snacks.
Instead of paying, one of the suspects insulted and threatened the 29-year-old shop owner, who is a foreign national. The suspect then walked outside, picked up a stone, and returned to assault both the owner and his employee.
The attackers fled the scene with a speed point device and an undisclosed amount of cash.
The Lindley Visible Policing unit and Detective Services launched an immediate investigation. Acting on intelligence regarding the identities of the suspects, officers tracked down and arrested both men on Thursday, 23 July 2026.
